Didsbury Bridal Product Shoot with Mick Cookson Photography
Yay! We did it again! Last month, on the hottest, most glorious day of this summer (I assume – considering now it’s end of July and sometimes I still get frozen again in my house) We went shooting this new collection with Mick Cookson Photography at Didsbury Parsonage, a hidden gem which I just found out recently.
I was so lucky I have always been having Monika and Malwina to model for my shoots. Both are dear friends and so fun to work with. We all love your medley of natural beauty, sense of humour, confidence, creativity, a huge source of energy and much much of kindness. Starting at 7am to be ready to model and staying creative and helpful with a smile on your lips until 6pm was surely not easy, and I am greatly thankful to you both.
We had a special guest this year, Ola, who brought all the sunshine from Poland to us, as she claimed 🙂 . Coming to Manchester the night before our shoot to visit her friend Monika, Ola was kind enough to give up one day of her short holiday here to come helping us with the shoot and later, posing, too. I made one more friend, who turned out a happy outgoing person so easy to hangout with and I called it my lucky day. Love you Ola, and love your red/blue shoes, too (which became epic in Mick’s picture). Please come again – we are having too much rain here at the moment 🙂
Then we had a super special guest this year – It’s the brilliant baby James. We had been longing to meet him, the baby of Jodie – the hair and makeup artist. Thank you Jodie for bringing him, the super cute little chap won the heart of everybody here.
Jodie had helped me in several shoots before. Young, beautiful, talented, she knows so well what she is doing and seems to be so successful in whatever she wants to do. Jodie has a well established hair and makeup business and her wonderful works are featured in so many leading wedding magazines. I have always been amazed that someone so young has so much experiences. Jodie always finds you the best solution in any situation and carries it out with professionalism. Jodie is very creative. If she has time and if requested she would make hair accessories and veils for her customers too. This very talented lady is so down to earth, so lovely to work with. If you are going to tie your knot soon, you may want to visit her website (which I will list at the end of this post) and look at her portfolio.
If you read my blog, you must have known Mick by now. He has been shooting my stuff for four years until now. Talking about Mick – it’s lots of patience, lots of hard work! It’s also the thirst for creativity and most importantly, the ability to spot out beauty where our ignoring eyes just don’t notice, and to frame it beautifully in his pictures. Mick, at some moments I had the fear that it might not be interesting to you anymore, shooting the stuff of the same designer (that is me 😉 ) in a similar setting, with the same models ( I will always have them. They’re absolutely amazing and I totally LOVE them). Then I realized why should have I ever been worrying? I follow you on your social media and keep being amazed by each picture you posted. There are photographers who complain about the wedding photography’s cliché, that they got sick of taking pictures of the same white lace and confetti, the same old typewriter, the same mustache and photo frame props, and the dance floor filled with a bit too happy people, but you never do. Each wedding you posted is different. There would always be a new look, a new find somewhere least expected. It’s always fun, fun, fun and emotional, but so professionally and so aesthetically done , too. And your friendly nature is the cherry on top which we all love. It makes everybody comfortable and life much easier 🙂 .
There are so many photos to look at, and a picture is worth thousands words. So I will leave you here with the images below. The items featured in these pictures will be listed soon in my shop, so if you would like to know more details about them, please keep checking back the shop 🙂 .
Before leaving I would like to say THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone who had helped me to make this shoot happened. Thank you to you all Mick, Jodie, Ola, Malwina, Monika and Rafa (who couldn’t be there on the day but always gives us support). Thank you to Margaret at Didsbury Parsonage Trust for kindly helping me with the venue and preparation for the shoot. Thank you to Mariusz for coming and cheering us and helping with the chairs. Thank you to Manyi for babysitting my kids and giving me heaps of valuable advice. And last but not least, huge thanks to my husband for having always been there for me, being my friend, adviser, driver, porter, delivery man, and a hell lot more 🙂 , for helping and supporting me throughout whatever I do and however crazy it is.
I hope you enjoy the images.
Have a lovely week, everyone!
